Who Are We?
We are Distant Illusions, an independent game studio from Europe. Forged in the fires of online forums, we make tight, satisfying games for our own and others' amusement.
We've shown our creations at the show floors of Gamescom, developed and published a game for the Nintendo Switch, and collaborated with partners like Opera, who generally agree that we are, in fact, pretty alright dudes.
We love video games. We hope you do too.
Technology
We know how games tick. We're experts in the GameMaker ecosystem, achieving what many considered would be impossible with the engine. We're also highly experienced in languages like C# and C/C++, and proficient with industry-standard technologies like Unity, Unreal Engine, and MonoGame.
And when existing tools aren't quite up to the task, we build our own! Our current flagship project is being built with our in-house game engine, Radium, which is designed to capture the crunchy look and feel of late 90s and early 2000s 3D games. It currently supports Windows, Linux, and Nintendo Switch, and lets us stay fully in control of our tech stack.
We're planning to share more details about Radium through our blog in the near future. Stay tuned!
Work With Us!
We've shipped our own IPs, worked with other studios, handled client projects, and navigated the complexities of console porting & certification. We're also very much used to working with external partners, feedback cycles, and production deadlines. We understand the creative, technical, and administrative sides of game development very well.
If you need a team that can get stuff done, we're available for porting, polishing, consultancy, and gameplay programming. Let's talk!
